  A Note on 'Levels'
Most (if not all) miniature painting services use a system of 'levels' to determine the price of a particular job, and ultimately the quality of the finished miniature. This stems from the need for different levels of painting skill, depending on the model in question. Obviously, there is no necessity to paint every trooper in your army to competition standard, nor is it appropriate to paint your army commander to the sae quality as your average troops; different situations call for different measures. This gives rise to the concept of levels, so that a certain quality of work can be measured. An army commander with extensive freehand decoration, many layers of blended highlights and a display base would take longer to produce than a normal infantryman with three layers of paint and a flocked standard base. This then means that the charges must be higher for the former job, and lower for the latter. It is all a question of time, just like any other job; you pay for the sheer number of hours and amount of work involved. That is levels as a whole dealt with, but here are some more specific details about my personal levels:

Level One
This level is the most basic of all, involving only the blocking in of colours with absolutely no shading or highlighting whatsoever. This is a quick job, and fairly cheap, though the results are obviously less flashy than the other levels. This level can be useful for beginners who are not confident about their painting skill (though I would recommend trying to paint yourself, you can only get good at it by practicing), or as a basis for your own work; paying someone else to do the boring basecoat stages for you can be a godsend and really help your enthusiasm for the rest of the painting. An example of level one painting can be seen to the right:

I always had my doubts about online commissions, but those fears have been laid to rest!  The shipment was expedient, the paint job affordable, and exemplerlary. I cannont be more pleased with my model! Shupped insured, and even through in some bonuses on the job that made this modle truely beautiful.Thank You Nexus!

Level Two
This level is about standard; about five shades of colour overall, usually one shade, the base colour and three highlights. Many people I know paint their armies to this kind of standard, as it presents a balance between the high quality, demanding paintjobs required by flashy commander models with the need to get an army painted quickly. This level can also be used on squad leaders of level one units, which tends to bring the level of the entire unit up in the eyes of the viewer. Models painted to this level probably won't win you a painting competition but an army to this standard may well get compliments. An example of level two (actually, more two plus) painting can be seen to the left:
